The steps known as Faith Hope and Charity are the concern of the developers of the main site and, at this point in time there are more pressing matters that concern them before they are able to refurbish the steps. The Admiralty decided to set aside five old laid up hulks in different ports around the country, and use them as bases at which volunteers aged between 15 and 17 could spend a year being educated for future service in the navy.
A new contractors entrance has been created and the Ceremonial Gates and along Caledonia Road have all been boarded up to prevent damage to the Grade 2 listed structures.
